e-lost In Speed
My icons and imagery are comes from wonderland-here and now- where we feel some ill uneasiness in joy. e-culture is lost in speed.
Yet, speed can be framed. We, in the picture framed, are crowned as saints. e-culture swim and flow from the e-mail of information super highway through electronic music to ecstasy. We are swimming the speedy flashes which high technology dedicated to human beings as infatuation drugs.
Cyber seems to be the most important word in the end of the century. Most of us spend our time living in the cyberspace constructed by Internet and virtual reality. In the future, new species of human are to be created by planting cyborg inside their bodies.
I listen to electronic music. Because those techno music present our culture, I play video games of fighting, and you can press re-start when you lose. We hang around in the electronic digital world, playing the copies of the reality and can always repeat.
The sound of computers is the natural sound. The tempo of electronic music confuses our sense of speed. My country, where I lived, always in such “mix-noise”, In the debate under east and west city culture, I consider Taiwan always in a “mix-noise” culture appearance. The art breed on this land is both sophisticate and diverse, likely been frozen up from the so-called time track. Everything we see is fluorescent. The characters of the play station keep popping out from the monitor, with crazily mess-up tempo, frame by frame, frozen up as well.
